When Miki said she and Grant wanted to do their engagement session at Castle Island, I was really excited! I’ve lived in the Boston area most of my life, but I had never been to Castle Island (and really, there are probably a thousand other places I haven’t yet explored!). Oddly, it’s not so much an Island. I’m pretty sure this is why people LOVE visiting Boston – we’ve named everything so clearly (*hint of sarcasm*). Anyway, back to the actual session! We had an amazing morning for our shoot. The sun was shining, everything was green, and I had a wonderful couple in love to photograph! We even got to eat ice cream from Sullivan’s – any session that involves an ice cream break is MY FAVORITE! Enjoy the photos!
Miki & Grant, I’m so looking forward to your July wedding! We are going to celebrate in style!
Note to other photographers and couples out there – a permit is actually required to shoot on Castle Island. Luckily, the DCR Ranger who approached me was nice and let me finish the session, but that obviously won’t happen every time. So, go guerilla and take your chances, or look into acquiring a permit for the day!
