There are so many things to love about Samantha and Larry as a couple. First, they wrote their own wedding vows. Second, they wrote nearly identical vows. Both of them talked about the night in college where they sat out on the stoop of Sam’s house and talked until the sun rose, covering topics from their childhoods to their favorite music. And I’m pretty sure they both mentioned that Larry flew to Europe with a sandwich for Sam while she was studying abroad. Now that’s love! Third, they found the similarities highly amusing, while still tearing up over the genuine emotion each one expressed while reading said vows. It made for a really adorable and sweet wedding ceremony.
Samantha & Larry opted for a First Look, so when everyone finished getting ready at Gurney’s Newport, we took a trolley over to Belle Mer, their wedding venue. Talk about gorgeous! We found some amazing portrait spots! I don’t think there’s anything quite like the anticipation of a wedding day! When you first see your partner-in-crime, it can be pretty emotional, so it was no surprise to me when Samantha and Larry shared a couple of minutes of laughter, tears, and hugs. And, of course, some good, old-fashioned wow-ing! They both looked stunning, so I don’t blame them!
The beautiful ceremony overlooked Narragansett Bay and the Newport Bridge. Samantha and Larry exchanged the aforementioned vows in front of their family and friends and, just like that, they were husband and wife! I photographed Samantha’s brother’s wedding a handful of years ago, so I knew this was a group that was going to dance their faces off! They did NOT disappoint! A fire burned in the fire pit on the lawn, so some guests mingled outside with their cocktails, enjoying the mild summer evening. A little something for everyone! Most importantly, Samantha and Larry never stopped smiling.
