As photographers, we’re trained to be observant. We watch people in hopes of catching all of the special in-between moments that happen when no one else is paying attention. What I observed while photographing these two during their Boston theater district engagement session was how genuinely kind they were to each other. That may seem obvious, but it’s not. They took care with each other, while also being playful and romantic and just all-around adorable. And they laughed. A lot.
We met up in the Boston theater district where we got to make the most of the Paramount Theater marquee. If you like old theaters as I do, you might appreciate that the Paramount opened in 1932 and was one of the first Boston movie theaters to play talking movies. How fun is that?! One of my favorite things to do during an engagement session is just wander. It gives you more time to get to know everyone (like how both Mariel and Jimmy love music and the Sopranos and animals), plus you may find spots you would have otherwise passed by.
Crowds flock to Boston Common at all hours of the day, of course, but the light was hard to resist. We crossed the street and took advantage of that golden evening sunlight in the city. I had so much fun hanging out with these two. It’s not very often I get a Boston theater district engagement session and I loved every minute of it! I can’t wait to share their wedding photos!
