Carly and Mike’s summer wedding was held down in Mattapoisett, MA at Shining Tides. What a beautiful venue! Their ceremony overlooked the water and we had such a beautiful day! Bright blue skies with just a few puffy clouds to add some depth. I loved it! Carly and Mike are the kind of people you want to hang out with – they’re smart, funny, kind, and totally in love. I had so much fun photographing their engagement session, I knew their wedding would be awesome.
Mike and Carly opted to do a “first look” on their wedding day. Basically, that’s when the couple sees each other before the ceremony. Couples choose to do this for a few reasons. They want to enjoy all of (or most of) their cocktail hour, which is traditionally when portraits are done. Sometimes it’s done to use the light! If a couple wants to do their portraits outside, they may need to do them before the ceremony depending on their timeline. And, some couples just like to get them out of the way! Anyway, photographers still like to preserve that “a-ha!” moment when the couple sees each other for the first time. So, this is Mike and Carly’s first look.
My second shooter for the day was Julie Moscatel. We have so much fun working together! Some of the photos in this post were captured by her creative eye! And Carly and Mike, thanks for being so awesome!
