Portrait FAQs
Photographing children is one of my favorite adventures. It’s all about capturing who your children are and who your family is at that moment. Messy, giggly, chaotic, sassy, and shy. My favorite emails to receive are the ones that say, “You have captured the crazy, sweet energy of my kids” and “You ABSOLUTELY captured the essence of the kids.” Thirty years from now, these photos will tell a really important story to your adult children, and it’s my job to help.
The session fee covers my time during the session, the post-production editing work, and your private online gallery. Sessions tend to last one to two hours. I leave it up to the little ones to let me know when they’re done modeling for me!
I travel to YOU! That may mean the session takes place at your home or maybe another favorite place. Parks, beaches, libraries, and even cupcake stores make great locations!
You do NOT need to be matchy-matchy. For the photographs to look their best, everyone in them needs to be comfortable! If your daughter hates dresses, let her pick out her own funky outfit. If your son loves wearing a cape around the house, let him wear it in the photos. And if the weather is right, bare feet are always adorable!
The best time is whenever mom is ready! A lot of my newborn sessions take place within the first two weeks, but don’t count yourself out if you miss that “deadline”. Babies are newborns for the first couple of months!
The short answer? Yes! If your child has a scratch, I am happy to remove it! Same thing goes for blemishes. Since these are only temporary, there’s no need for them to stay in your photographs.
Your photos will be available for viewing in your private online gallery about two weeks after your session. Final print orders will be delivered within one to two weeks of ordering.
Margaret Belanger Photography owns the copyright to all images, including the proofs, even if you purchase the digital files. When you purchase files, you receive permission to reproduce them (print them, blog them, email them to family members, or even make an album) without having to go through me.
I archive the images you see in your gallery for one year. After that, sessions are purged from the system in order to make room for new clients.
Of course! Fur babies (and all other pets) are an important part of the family! I am happy to incorporate them into the session!
