Jess and Barrett had been guests at two other weddings I had photographed, so when they invited me to photograph their wedding day, I couldn’t help but be honored. And totally excited! You see, having witnessed them in action at other celebrations, I knew what was in store for me and it included good music and lots of amazing dancing. And maybe even a dance-off, because Jess and Barrett are totally the couple who have friends who hold dance-offs at weddings. They’re also the kind of couple who loves Muppets, so I knew we were meant to be.
Jess and Barrett got married at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, MA with the kickass DJ Pat Lally manning the music. The groom works at a country club, so all of the little golf details were for him. The following photos are some of my many favorites from the day!
The bride and groom opted to do a first look, so we were able to get lots of awesome photos of them, plus of the wedding party, before the ceremony. Everyone was so easy to photograph, and we had a gorgeous day, so it was pretty much perfect. Like a portrait perfect storm. But in a good way. What’s that you say? More gorgeous portraits with gorgeous lights? That’s right! Jess and Barrett were super accommodating when it came to portraits and allowed plenty of time for us to play! A little painting with light! My second shooter for the day, Steph Stevens, totally took the lead on this one and taught me how to do this. Jess and Barrett were great sports as we figured all this out! Considering this was my first try, I was pretty happy with the end result! (Just in case you were wondering, someone really did bring a frog in to the reception and I really did make the bride pose with it!)Jess and Barrett, you guys are rock stars!
