I walked into the house to find mom enthusiastically blowing up balloon after colorful balloon. A bunch of them already filled the pack and play. She had this brilliant idea for a first birthday portrait of her son and I was totally on board! We placed this peanut one-year-old in his crib and then showered him with balloons while he giggled. It was pretty much the best thing ever! I photographed mom and dad’s wedding, and in the last year we’ve done a maternity session, a Fresh 48 session, and a newborn session. I loved being able to return to their home to capture some photos of this little guy to commemorate his first birthday (and mom and dad surviving year one as parents)!
In addition to the awesome balloon photos, we also recreated a photo we took when A was just a newborn, snuggled next to mom. We worried that at one he’d be a little too squirmy for the photo, but he nailed it! He was such a sweet and good-natured baby – he made my job easy! After spending some time at their home, we made our way over to Mill No5 in Lowell, where we did some of their maternity portraits. I loved bringing it full circle with our locations. Not only was it a lovely reminder of where they were just over a year ago, but they’ll have photos of them as a family of three that perfectly match photos of them as a family of 2.5!
