The day Cindy closed on her first home, Mark was the second person to step inside as the subcontractor. Despite Mark’s uncle’s advice to never mix business with pleasure, Mark and Cindy fell madly in love. But their story doesn’t end there. This backyard wedding is their second time saying “I do” to each other. I first met Cindy & Mark photographing her son’s Confirmation party. She and Mark split up shortly after that event, but then reunited years later! They fell madly in love, again, and followed their hearts to the altar (or in this case, the back deck).
After the wedding, Cindy and Mark told me one of their top moments of the day, much to their surprise, was their first look. Cindy said it was so unexpected and authentic. Mark definitely shed a few tears when he saw Cindy for the first time under the tree in their front yard. That may have been the unexpected part. The whole day was beautiful. Being surrounded by their family and friends was their number one priority when planning their wedding. They wanted their photos to reflect that, too. They loved seeing images of their people hugging each other and laughing. Cindy said, “If we could search our photos by ‘hug,’ 50% of them would surface and that makes us very happy.”
It was a little too chilly that day for anyone to end up in the pool, but the night ended with some dancing under the stars and an awesome fireworks display. Not a bad way to (re)start your lives together!
