Jessin and Jensen chose Blake Shelton’s song “God Gave Me You” for their first dance, and they could not have found a better song to celebrate their relationship. They have a very faith-centered relationship and are drawn together by their faith in God. After knowing each other since children, they finally ended up as a couple. Rumor has it, Jensen’s first crush on Jessin started when they were five. And at around 8 years old, he and a friend concocted a sneaky plan to get her to kiss him. It backfired then, but many years later, a good friend (and bridesmaid) convinced them that they should stop flirting and just go out already! Thank goodness for friends like that! Their wedding day incorporated so many wonderful traditions. Before leaving for the ceremony, both Jessin and Jensen took part in a family prayer. It was undoubtedly one of the most emotional parts of the day (I’m always grateful when the giant camera in front of my face hides my tears!). The ceremony was much the same – steeped in tradition and history and full of color, Jessin and Jensen exchanged vows in front of their family and friends. Both of them share a generosity of spirit and that ripples out onto the people in their lives. Their love for each other, their people, and their faith permeates everything they do. All you have to do is check out their engagement session to see what I mean!
Their wedding reception took place at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, a gorgeous pre-Civil War performance space that’s on the National Register of Historic Places. Mechanics Hall is full of wonderful nooks and dark wood and exposed brick and grand staircases and a beautiful giant ballroom with an ornate ceiling and stage. Jessin & Jensen filled that place with people and partied the night away! After the heartfelt (sometimes teary, often funny, always sweet) speeches, the couple spent time with their guests, dancing, visiting, and just soaking in every minute. In the end, these two threw a party that didn’t just celebrate a wedding, but really and truly kicked off a marriage. As Jessin says, “I love that we are growing together. There are so many more challenges and memories to come and I’m just so excited and happy to share them with him.” Here’s to the wonderful one-of-a-kind journey ahead! And here’s to the team who helped celebrate…
