Marissa and Heath are clients from way back! Their wedding at the Grand View Inn in Jaffrey, NH was one of my firsts! I was so thrilled when they reached out to me to photograph their new baby! This little guy is so lucky to have found his way to such wonderful parents. I showed up at their house less than two weeks after this little guy made his world debut and they welcomed me in with open arms. I am still surprised people open the door to me that soon after giving birth! This little guy loved being swaddled. He gave me some wonderful little faces, too (you may even see the sneaky appearance of a teeny smile in one of these photos!). Mom and dad found some adorable hats on etsy that we were able to put to good use.
Now, this little guy’s name is Harrison, and a little birdie told me that the name partially comes from George Harrison. Anyone who loves the Beatles that much is a-okay in my book! If memory serves, in addition to being Beatles fans, there was a Beatles song on when mom and dad first met. I love a name with so much meaning behind it! So, without further ado, here comes the son…
***A speical note to parents… I know that you don’t always want to be in photos. I get it. I feel fat most days and I do not have a brand new baby as an excuse. But trust me when I tell you, you are going to want that very first family photo, the one at your home with your new little person. I had to talk this family into it. I told them, “You don’t have to change your clothes; you don’t even need to look at the camera. All you need to do is sit there and enjoy your baby and each other.” And, of course, when they received their photos, they were so grateful to have those family photos! So, the moral of the story is: JUST DO IT! Your baby will never be that little again! Enjoy it. That’s why you hired a photographer! 🙂
