This Norfolk maternity session holds a very special place in my heart. I first met Christina way back in 2009 when I photographed her sister’s wedding. Then I photographed her wedding! Then her other sister’s wedding! Three sisters in one family and I had the pleasure of photographing all of them! It was bittersweet when the last of the three weddings was over! So it was amazing to be invited back to celebrate her and Keith’s new chapter as parents.
Maternity sessions aren’t always the obvious choice for moms. They worry about being too big, about being too uncomfortable. We take all of those factors (and feelings) into consideration when we schedule maternity sessions. Photos are such a wonderful way to commemorate such an important time in the lives of you and your partner. Of course, I know I’m biased.
We met up for their Norfolk maternity session in the town center and just strolled along looking for some good scenery along the way. We found some beautiful blooms and some gorgeous light! Afterward, we drove to their home to take some photos in their yard. The minute I saw how magical the light was coming through the trees, I knew we had to take photos over there. Never underestimate what you can do with even just a corner of your yard! Christina and Keith had also decorated the nursery already, so we made sure to take some photos in there, too. They knew they wanted to do the Baby’s First Year plan, so it was important to get some photos in spaces we would use again once the baby is born!
