Providence Biltmore Engagement Session: When You Propose, Anything Goes

The 1920s. Art Deco. This engagement session had it all. And so will the wedding next summer – hooray!

Abby, the bride, is the Mr.’s sister and I am honored that she and Mat (yes, one ‘t’) asked me to photograph their wedding day. The two of them are such creative people – artists, educators, scientists, gardeners, beer connoisseurs – they’re pretty much ready to conquer the world! From the moment they got engaged, they knew they wanted a Great Gatsby style wedding – not a themed wedding, not a costume party, but a wedding with lots of little personal touches and details and a whole lot of style. They wanted that idea to carry through to their engagement session, so we met up at the Providence Biltmore, a hotel that opened in 1922. The rain came down on us hard that day, so we were so grateful that the hotel allowed us to shoot indoors! What a beautiful location! So much of the hotel is original – it made the perfect backdrop for this cuddly couple. Their ease in front of the camera, and with each other, made my job easy! I am so looking forward to celebrating with them next June – and every day leading up until that, and every day after!
