One of the sweetest things about this Winchester newborn session was that Mom’s uncle is the one who gifted it to them! He called me asking about gift certificates because his niece was about to have a baby and they recently moved to town. Such an awesome baby gift! This family could not have been nicer! Like with most newborn sessions, I met them at their home. Photographing a family in their natural habitat means that they don’t have to travel with their new baby. It means we don’t have to worry about the weather. It also means that we capture photos of a family in their first home together. Even though I travel with my fair share of blankets, using the spaces and blankets in your house is always really special.
I know a lot of newborn photographers prefer a sleeping baby, but I have to say, having this little guy awake and alert for some of his session made for some really sweet photos. Catch the photo of this little guy gazing at his mom! He even smiles up at me in one photo. He fell asleep eventually and we were still able to capture photos of him in cozy poses.
Some of these Winchester newborn session photos are “directed” by me and are more portrait-like, but most of them just show two parents in love with their new baby. No new parent needs direction on how to adore their baby! It’s the beauty of a newborn session. No matter how tired you may be, there’s always enough energy to snuggle. I would be remiss if I did not point out the very proud and smiling dog! Scroll through the photos to see how happy this big {fur} brother is to have a new baby in the family!
